Just noticed the perfect math of the date in the title and it seems that the magic applied to this past weekend as well. 3 days (4 for some of the lucky people) of sun, fun, and celebration of America’s decision to leave England in the rearview mirror.
Now mind you that while our history (while young) is colored with red blood spilled for nations not ourselves, black moments when our nation has seen some of the most heinous acts in humankind perpetrated upon it, and the ever steady flow of green that has kept us somewhat aloft, it is the rainbow of people that have made this nation great. Straight, gay, poor, rich, no matter the color or class, people all over the world just want to be free to do as they please.
And this weekend, America was down to do just that. Here’s a quick look at how Dallas did it this 4th of July Weekend:

Monday was the actual holiday and people were still celebrating till the wee hours of Tuesday morning, but you can’t blame people for taking a bit of pride in living in one of the places I’ve come to know and love. For all the bad you read about America, there is still a glimmer of hope in reading/seeing that everyday people are putting effort into making things better for everyone. This simple photoblog is my contribution back to a community that has given me so much for so long.
Instead of focusing on the dour times, let’s focus on the positive. There is too much time in this world to be sad, so find every excuse to partake in joy. In words from the Declaration of Independence we are to enjoy “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
We’re in this race together so keep up the pursuit, folks! I’ll see you with my camera in hand as we all head towards the finish line!
As always feedback is appreciated! Tell your friends and others about the blog and if you see yourself or want to get a picture from me, send me a message. All I ask is that you acknowledge my efforts if you end up using them elsewhere.
Until next week, stay classy America!
