Counting down the weeks till my CA visit and making prep to do some REALLY ambitious stuff. Kind of nervous in all honesty, but I know that I can never be as nervous as when I first decided to start into the wild ride. Check out some of my pics from my first experience with an art show:
My first time to show and share my stuff was at Fallout Lounge here in Dallas and I had two pieces there and really had no belief or thought that I would sell. I just wanted to do as I had with my dj’ing and put myself out there. Walked around to do the meet and greet deal and then went out for a bite to eat. When I came back someone offered to buy one of my pieces. Funniest part is that the buyer and the person photographed are now a loving couple with a beautiful baby boy.
It’s a fantastic feeling to know that even two years after taking it that they both still remember that story and proudly can recount it. Too many people don’t take the time to actually form a connection with their subject. There is more to this art than cash and the humanistic side is what I’m trying to express. Every day is a new opportunity to show something in a new light, so that’s why I always keep my camera handy and my eyes (and ears) open.
Cannot wait to see what Los Angeles has to offer. I am both up to and ready for the challenge.
Watch me as I spread my wings. Come fly with me.
