Sitting on the Edge of Summer

The cicadas screech into the settling dusk. The magic of fireflies in the tall grass. The joy of pools being open till the late hours of the night and the glory of night swimming in those special places away from the public eye.

Snowcones and barbecues alongside of candid conversation on just how damn hot it REALLY is. Children playing in the street and adults running themselves wild to enjoy the freedom of the summer months.

After Labor Day, everything returns to normal and the quiet wonderland that is May – August’s End goes away. I always miss it fondly when it goes away, but revel in it when it appears.

Here is a quick nod to sitting on the edge of summer.

Sitting on the Edge of Summer

I got my new Canon EFS 55-250mm lens today and am that much closer to rounding out for the Brazil trip next year. There I will chase the land where summer never really dies.

I’ll love you forever, summer.
