Creatures of being

Some of us hold spirit animals and others relate ourselves to the animals of the zodiac. The inner fire within all of us is referred to as being our inner beast. Sometimes the beast is one of burden (and that comes in all sizes and shapes). The weight grows and diminishes as we progress through life.

I’m comfortable in the skin I’m in, but sometimes I shed in order to grow anew and more in touch with who I am. I’ve butted heads with life like my namesake (the ram), molted like a snake (my writing allows me to see the layers I’ve shed for reflection), and chased joy like a lion on hunt in the savannah. I’ve swam in oceans of sadness like a fish, flown the warm zephyrs of laughter as a seagull, and worn a hard-shelled exterior (for emotion and whatnot) like an armadillo.

The eyes and perspectives are many (just like humans), but the stories are all the same. Here we reside on one Earth.

And for that, we are ALL “creatures of being.”

Here’s a view from a rainy day courtesy of yours truly. Enjoy!
