Valentine’s Day is less than 72 hours away and while I don’t have a valentine this year, I do still have a lot of love in my heart. Love is a passing thing, but when I’m not in love with someone I do love my hobbies/creative passions. A large part of what you’ve seen over the past 2 and a half years is a labor of love for music, culture, and life in general.
We have more than enough time to be sad in this world, but why embrace that? Joy is a decision and I choose to share mine with the world. If you’ve got a little, share it. That’s the way to make the world a better place. 😉
Got a chance to celebrate with the rest of my Central Track gang this past Saturday at Sundown at Granada and met a ton of new faces. Got a chance to meet Larry Gee, FINALLY hear The Roomsounds, and party down with A.Dd+ and witness firsthand the way Dallas is eating up live music again. Here is a link to my pics from the event:
My “private eyes” very rarely show the other side of the lens, but I’m okay with that. I’ve gotten some messages asking why I’m not in more of my pics, but I think that’s just the way most photogs are. It’s cool for some, but I can’t tell the story as well if I’m in it, I feel. It’s about framing the story and waiting for just the right moment to press the button and capture life. Sometimes there’s a science to it and sometimes it’s just pure instinct.
Then again, so is life. Make it what you can, folks! Private eyes are watching YOU!
Today’s musical muse is Bebel Gilberto. Sing it, lovely lady!
