Summertime Love

If I could only tell you of the number of summers I have spent since my formative years always hoping to have a summer love or fling.  While not actively looking, I’ve encountered a number of choice hearts and have soundtracks that would last 3X over 500 days of summer, but the ending music always seems to play out the same.

In the end, the raucous days, prolonged sunsets, and vibrant nights are the only things that have always stood as a constant from my youth to today.

Summer Freedom

Summer Freedom

I stand now in high summer in my life.  Fall days still stand far enough from my door to be considered fleeting thought, but much closer than they ever were before 35.  The sky must remain forever blue and tall and memory never clouded by the fears of the past or haze of the unknown future.

A bittersweet tune from a bygone era long lost to the hearts and minds of many (the 1970s), I give you a small glimpse into the merry-go-round of MY mind and what I always think of regarding summer.
